Isabelle C. Hau is executive director of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, the university-wide hub bringing researchers, educators and entrepreneurs together on learning, housed at the Graduate School of Education. She came to Stanford after roughly a decade with the Omidyar Group, where she founded and led the US Education initiative at Omidyar Network and became a founding partner of its spinoff, Imaginable Futures. Earlier she worked at ImpactAssets and, before that, as a financier at Morgan Stanley.
Her book Love to Learn: The Transformative Power of Care and Connection in Early Education was published by PublicAffairs in February 2025. She writes a weekly newsletter on the future of early learning and teaches an experiential Stanford class on designing for learners in under-resourced communities. She serves on the boards of EDC and Sonen, and on the steering committees of the EDSAFE AI Alliance and the Brookings Institution Global AI Taskforce.
